Have you started planning for your 2020? Being more organised going into your New Year can reduce stress and overwhelm so check out today’s blog where I share some of my end of year planning and organisation tips to help you have a smooth transition into your new decade. With New Year just around the corner, and the start of a whole new decade at our door, this is a great time of year to reflect and goal plan. Every year I always take a little time to sit and reflect. Whether it’s about the lessons and learnings from the challenges and triumphs that have occurred throughout my year, to thinking about my intentions and goals moving into the New Year and beyond. I find doing this yearly routine extremely therapeutic, it helps me to let go of the old and make way for a fresh New Year ahead, and I hope it can do the same for you. Failure to prepare, is preparing to fail... Preparation plays a huge role to living an organised life and to do this can take a little planning, so here are some of my Organisation tips that help me to gain clarity on my New Year goals and lifestyle schedule with less stress and more ease. So grab a pen and planner and let’s get started… With your pen and paper I want you to categorise your areas of focus. These could be your healthy living goals, work goals, hobbies, finance and so forth. Sometimes our big goals can feel overwhelming so this can be a great way to break it all down into smaller more attainable steps. Be sure to do a brainstorm for your areas of focus on separate pieces of paper for each project. Here you can also work out your focus moving into your New Year and beyond by getting clear on the types of goals you want to set as well as some of the specific actions you may need to take to get there. Now you don’t have to have it all figured out just yet, because trying to do this will only put pressure on what can be an already hectic schedule, what’s most important here is that you make a start. This could be to complete a fun run, to setting up a clean living shopping list and menu plan, to dates with friends and family etc. In my Lifestyle Journal I have a great goal-planning format that can be helpful to use so be sure to visit my home page at www.nicole-salmon.com and scroll down to my pop up journal to register your details and receive your copy before making a start. Great, now you have your Lifestyle Journal and are clearer on your goal plan for 2020, it’s time to implement some simple strategies to help make it happen. To do this I have listed 3 Tips that I live by that can help you to achieve this with more ease so that you are moving into your New Year in leaps and bounds. Tip 1: Set up your Diary Firstly I get my old diary and I transfer all of my appointments and notes I have made in the back notes section into my new 2020 Diary. These notes for me usually consist of things I might need to action in January, from meetings, appointments, birthdays, holidays, check ups and key dates, to work actions, as well as things that may need to be renewed such as ambulance subscriptions and so on. Doing this will help you to clear the clutter of to do’s and put them to action. Tip 2: Use a Weekly Planner I love my weekly planner note pad. I often use this for my work actions because being a mother, and multiple business owner life can become a little hectic at times. By doing this helps to keep all of my work actions in one place, and I find this strategy really helps to prevent work overload and clears the way for my day to day priorities without overwhelm and stress. These are always the important work tasks that I set every week, and the rest then follows. For those whom don’t like carrying around a diary or planner then try out a phone calendar such as google calenders, this can be great for color coding your schedule and appointments as well as reminders in your weekly actions too. Tip 3: Have an Everyday Journal
I love to use an everyday journal for my general day to day life. No matter how organised you can be there are always times when curve balls can hit you at 100 miles an hour. This is where my journal comes into play. I use my journal often and it’s a place where I will write what I am grateful for to what I have done for the day, it helps me to put effort into the most important things as well as monitor my daily actions more closely when I need to. There can be days where you might find that you feel you haven't done enough, but other times you do too much, so by doing this is a great way to help you balance out your time with realistic daily expectations on yourself and task allocation whilst prioritising your schedule accordingly when need be. So there you have it, 3 Tips that I live by that help me to create some organisation for the New Year and I hope it does the some for you. Now I know this can get a little overwhelming, especially if you have a lot to tackle in your life already so if you’re struggling to clear the clutter and set your new year goals once and for all then join my 12 weeks to clutter free living program. Have a great day, and cheers to 2020 may it bring harmony, health and happiness your way, Nicole x

I have been in your shoes. It’s so hard to know what to do so I can’t stress the importance of having a Mentor enough! My Mentor (who I found on www.lisnic.com) saved me from making so many stupid mistakes, I don’t know how my company would’ve survived without one.
