Are you constantly trying to keep up with your daily tasks only to find that you’re right back where you started the next day? Then maybe it’s chaos that’s getting in your way? Living amongst chaos can bring about mess and stress in ones daily life. Whether it’s finding the time to reply to those 10 text messages on your phone, the dishes in the sink still to be washed, to getting kids reading for school on time 😬 you name it, living a busy life can be a stressful thing! And let’s be honest, life can get complicated so when chaos hits it can have you feeling bogged down in a constant whirlwind, and in some cases chasing your tail just to get through the day 🌪 But what if you could calm the chaos? What if you could create more time and space in your day that reduces mess and stress in your daily life, even when 💩 hits the fan? Not to mention BUST the busyness cycle once and for all... In the midst of chaos, keep stillness inside of you. What I’ve found over the years is that when chaos hits in my life, having a good plan and some simple strategies in place actually means that I can manage a surprising amount in my day. My productivity goes up, stress levels go down, and I can even create more time in my day to do more of the things that spark joy in my life 🧘♀️ including chill time. So today I want to share with you some ways that you can create more calm in your day that will help you to bust the busyness cycle and create a lifestyle of less stress and more ease. So let’s get started… 1. Keep a clutter free home Keeping your space clutter free automatically makes your day less chaotic because you have less clutter to think about which creates a greater sense of calm as you go about your day. 2. Get organised Setting up your time and space for your week ahead and checking your tasks at the beginning of the day can make productive use of your time. A strategy I teach my clients in our 12 weeks to clutter free living course is to undertake a simple task review at the end of a busy day. This can work wonders to how you manage your tasks and timelines, leaving you with more time and space in your day ☀️ 3. Develop healthy routines Having a simple routine for the things you do regularly streamlines your daily processes. It can cut down on wasted time, and reduce daily stress and mess, helping you to live a healthy life with more ease. 4. Meditate There’s nothing like a good old meditation to calm the mind and soothe the soul. Meditation has been scientifically proven to reduce blood pressure and symptoms of anxiety. It reduces stress levels and can help to induce a heightened state of awareness, focussed attention, and improve memory. All the more reason to get your ‘ohm’ on 🧘♀️ 5. Keep in contact Whether it’s your emails or phone calls still to be returned, this can present as a stressor at times for many amongst a busy life. By making sure that you respond promptly when you can is key to keeping in touch with your peeps. Simply time blocking a section of your day to get through your messages will calm the chaos because you’ve created a system that takes care of it for you. We cover this very strategy and more in our 12 weeks to clutter free living course. 6. Get enough sleep Our brain and body both need time to replenish and recover. Ensuring you get enough sleep is a key ingredient to creating calm and clarity. I know what I feel like after a good nights sleep and it can often be the difference between a ‘stumbling through the fog type of day’ compared to one where you have the 'energy, clarity, and focus'. So be sure to catch enough 😴 because unfortunately for most, this can be one of the first things to go when life gets hectic. 7. Resist the urge to multi task Multi tasking can have it’s gains don’t get me wrong, putting your make up on whilst waiting for your morning coffee to brew can definitely save you time in your day ⏰ But the truth is, just like our good old devices, our brains can also become overloaded when we have too many tabs open 👩💻 By setting up an action list, and working on one task at a time, will help you focus on and complete the task at hand, increasing your productivity and reducing your mess and stress. So there you have it, 7 ways to calm the chaos and make life a little less chaotic.
Now if you feel as though you’re stuck in the busyness cycle and if you want to clear the clutter and calm the chaos once and for all then our 12 weeks to clutter free living is the very thing that will help you to create more time and space in your day.
