Do you ever find yourself losing focus and feeling tired when you finish your day? If so you are not alone. Many people can start their day all systems blazing yet can find themselves towards the later hours, feeling tired, losing focus and at times even sabotaging all that great work they had set up for their day. Think weight loss goals as an example, you might start your day well have your breakfast smoothie, a healthy lunch and nutritious snacks throughout the day yet it comes to after dinner and the wheels can start to fall off, your will power drops and instead you reach for the very thing you know you probably shouldn’t be eating that goes against what you were trying to achieve. You feel defeated and say ‘Oh well, I’ll start again tomorrow’ only to find you do it all again. How you end your day is just as important as how you begin it. To make sure your morning has a solid start you must have a great ending the day before. Finishing your day feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and tired will see a dramatic decrease in your productivity levels. Not only does it impact upon your home life, sleep patterns, and energy levels it can potentially follow through to your next day as well and ultimately impact your lifestyle results. Whilst we live in a world of distraction every second of every day it can be a constant battle to remain focused, have energy, and feel rested all at the same time. By focusing your energy on how to end your days in the best way you can start each day more rested, and full of vitality. As a result, this will further increase your productivity and move you towards the lifestyle goals you desire. Here are 5 simple habits you can create to finish your day well: 1. Do a brain dump When I have a lot on my plate sometimes it can circle around in my mind and I find it hard to switch off, too busy thinking what I need to do tomorrow let alone what I hadn’t yet finished for the day. Doing a brain dump is my simple saviour. By grabbing a pen and putting your thoughts to paper can help in setting action plans, and relax your mind, body and soul each day. Even journaling your feelings can also help promote calm and resolve from a stressful day. 2. Get your workout gear ready Put your runners and workout gear at the foot of your bed ready for your morning ahead. Not only will this help you set up your healthy morning routine, it imbeds in your mind what you will be doing moving forward, making you even more inclined to jump out of bed when the alarm sounds, and hit the ground running. 3. Place your diary on your bathroom sink Make sure it’s the first thing you notice when you wake. This helps to prompt you for the next day, and by setting 3 simple actions the night before can help you remain focused and on task towards achieving your goals. 4. Tidy Up It will give you that feeling of a fresh start when you wake, just like making your bed in the morning. Numerous studies suggest just how powerful this simple little habit really is when it comes to having a clearer mind and setting ourselves up for success. Try your best to finish those dishes, and clear the clutter, it may even help you sleep a little better. 5. Meditate By meditating or practising deep breathing techniques of 10 deep breathes before you go to sleep will encourage a state of calm and relaxation. This is by far one of the best processes that can assist you in letting go of any daily stress so be sure to add this little beauty to your night cap. What will your routine be?
