Ever found yourself rustling around in the bottom of your handbag trying to find your phone as it rings, only to miss the call? How about grabbing your car keys in the pouring rain whilst trying to get to your car in a hurry? It can be frustrating carrying a big bag yet not be able to get your hands on the very thing you need quickly and easily. Having an organised handbag saves you time and energy. By knowing where you have everything kept means it takes no time to grab it on the go. It also increases your efficiency because you don’t have to worry about forgetting things and you’re able to grab items at the ready whenever you need them. My concept never changes, but my bags do... An important key to having an organised handbag is to have items categorised and stored in suitable compartments. By having compartments makes it so much easier. It saves you time and you can replicate the same type of system in your bag that’s in use. It also helps you to automatically know where everything goes which can train you to put things in the right place so its easier for you to get when you need it again. So its pretty clear that it is a great thing to have your handbag in order, it helps you to function more optimally and focus on what you need to rather than trying to locate the pen and note pad when you need it. The following 3 simple steps are a great way to living a clean and clutter free life, with a handbag to boot, so let's get started. Step 1: Pull everything out of all of your bags that you own and leave them all empty, gathering your items together in one area. Give your bags a clean and start sorting your items into categories of what you need. The goal is to keep the essentials which are usually your wallet, phone, and keys. Separate these from your non essential items such as loyalty cards, tissues, makeup, earphones or hard drive organisers etc. How much have you been carrying around that you don’t actually need? See if there is anything you don’t need and discard it, or find it a new home. Step 2. Now they are layed out into the 2 categories, it’s time to sort the items you are keeping into storage compartments of like categories i.e your makeup bag, your tissues and toiletries section and so on. I love using a plastic zip organizer for this because if anything was to leak then it won’t destroy my bag. This also makes it easy for transferring my items when I need to, whether that be downsizing from my bigger day bag to a smaller night bag and so on. Step 3: When placing items back into your bag, be sure to utilize the compartments well. I love using my small zip sections for items such as my lipliner, lipgloss, tissues, a few spare bandaids and so on. Try to store your items vertically, starting with placing your bigger items in first followed by your smaller ones. This helps to keep things organised so when you need it, you can get to it both easily and effortlessly. Another great tip for having an organised handbag is to know your bags purpose. What do you need it for? Do you need one with more compartments? Or perhaps it’s one with a better storage system? Maybe it’s a bigger size so that you can fit your jumper and a drink bottle? Knowing this will help you in determining what type of bags you choose to keep that suit your lifestyle needs and put them to good use. There you have it team, an organised handbag in 3 simple steps!
