The environment, which we live, can either make or break our weight loss efforts. Whether it’s what’s in our fridge, to
the pantry and kitchen bench, our environment affects the way we live and think because it strongly affects what influences we're exposed to.
From health and fitness, to work, family, and home, you name it; all of our environments can influence how we carry out our days.
So much of setting and achieving a healthy lifestyle is organisation around our deepest priorities, and our environments we expose ourselves to day in day out.
However truth is sometimes all of our stuff can really drag us down and keep us weighted not only in our physical environment but mentally and spiritually too. In fact research shows that our environment can have influence upon our mood, impact our behavior and motivation to act, to facilitating and discouraging interaction, and creating or reducing stress.
It is also known that our brains function better when our surroundings are neat, organised and filled with things that we feel good about.
Life would be less of a balancing act, if we stood upon stable foundations.
I know I function optimally in a clean and clear environment; it makes me feel good. I am more productive, I feel mentally clearer, and it helps me to manage my time more effectively.
I believe that setting up a healthy environment is pivotal to our overall health and wellbeing.
So what does this mean for your weight loss results?
By undertaking actions such as cleaning out your pantry of things that are out of date and unhealthy, to clearing out your old workout gear can be a great start. Not only will this freshen up your home, it will help you to de-clutter and create greater organisation.
Having a fresh fruit bowl on your kitchen table, to my favorite – glass of water sitting on my kitchen or office bench. All these elements can work wonders for our overall health and wellbeing.
