That inner critic, we can all have it. You know that inner voice that sneaks it way in when at times when you don’t do that workout, or eat too much of that chocolate cake, the times when the guilt and… negative self talk can weave it’s way in leaving you feeling disappointed, and frustrated within. As a mother, business owner, wife, and the list can go on for many of us, judgment can sometimes weave its way into our lives. Whether it is internal negative self talk, or external judgment like those of comments made. Too often we...enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought. It doesn’t matter how you choose to live your life – whether you build a business or work a corporate job, have children or choose not to have children, travel the world or live in the same town all your life, go to the gym 5 times a week or sit on the couch every night. Whatever you do, someone can judge you for it. For some reason or another, someone can find their negativity, insecurities or their fear and project it onto you and your life, and you are left to deal with it. However the very thing we can over look the most is that sometimes our biggest critics are right between our own ears… yes that’s right, I’m talking to you, that mini me / inner critic that can crawl it’s way in and judge a decision you make about something, question your own ability, or bring about self doubt, and sabotage, ultimately influencing your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. So just how can we combat this pattern of thinking and behaviour?
Here are 3 steps to get you on your way:
Remember everyday is a new day. It’s what we choose to learn and take away from our experiences that shape our lives and make us an even greater version of ourselves. Be kind to yourself, and remember it’s your time, make it count x. Nicole x.
